I Still Have a Few Questions…

Q. How many customers do you have?

A. We have worked for over 800 companies, completing over 10,000 projects.

Q. Where are you located?

A. Our offices are located in Northeastern Pennsylvania in East Stroudsburg.

Q. What actual, real-world, experiences do you have?

A. Ron and Ed and Rich, who you’ll meet later, have many years of competitive bidding experience in private and public work. Remember, Ron and Ed were both employed as chief estimators for several construction firms before joining forces at Walsh Estimating.

Q. But I won't get the gut-feel of the job if I don't do it myself?

A. You will miss it! That’s why you need experienced people who supply more than “raw” numbers. We add comments to our quantities that communicate the “gut feel” that you miss by not doing the whole takeoff yourself.

Q. Do you do cost estimating? Or are you quantities only?

A. We do hard bid numbers for a handful of customers where we get material and sub quotes and do everything involved. But mostly, we are asked to do what we call “Meaningful Budget Estimates.” Don’t misunderstand; we don’t pull numbers out of the air. We go farther than a typical engineer’s estimate. Yuck! We use historical material, sub, and crew cost data and apply crew production rates on a line by line basis where needed. Some larger home builders and contractors of all sizes hire us for this service.

Q. How much will it cost?

A. Our rates are reasonable and competitive and we’ll be happy to review them with you if you give us a call. 1-800-448-1167 We usually work on an hourly basis, but also quote lump sum prices after reviewing your plans. You can request a rate sheet by email.

Q. Will you provide the takeoff application files?

A. Of course! Just request them.

Q. How do you guarantee your work?

A. We don’t! What? You heard right. We are not a bonding company. We guarantee our work up to the amount you paid for the estimate–and that’s it. If you are uncomfortable with this, please do not hire us.

Having said that –We promise to do the best job we can. If we didn’t would we still be in business after 30 years?
